Our polymer is mixed with water and road base in set proportions using either traditional or more sophisticated mixing techniques. The road base is then compacted using a roller and dries to form a strong and extremely durable road surface. By applying BASE-CAP™, long-lasting dust and mud free road surfaces can be achieved without the use of concrete, through increasing the stabilisation and strength of the road base.
In this way, the generation of dust can be controlled in a more environmentally friendly and cost-effective way. The depth of this road base layer, as well as the BASE-CAP™ mix ratio will, in turn, affect the life of the road. For example a middle mix 10cm depth road base can last between 2 – 5 years. 7 years of stability can be achieved where moisture content, compaction and product mix ratios are carefully controlled.
